About Our Yoga
Safety Bay Yoga Centre’s main focus is THERAPY YOGA.
In THERAPY YOGA we use Props to help practitioners at all levels gain the sensitivity of a pose while receiving the benefits over time without overextending themselves. They allow students to practice asanas (postures) and pranayama (breath control) with greater effectiveness, ease, and stability.
Our aim is to provide you with an accessible and relevant yoga practice that will improve your quality of life.
Functions of Props: Support, Education, Direction,Relaxation and stress reduction.
We use a specialized WALL BAR SYSTEM that allows anyone to access a good stretch with ease and most benefit, improving mobility and range of movement.
As a support, our wall bar system acts as a prop. Helping the patient overcome fear (of falling, losing balance, etc.). The protection response to fear can frequently cause one to hold the breath, to tighten the very muscles and organs that need to relax and extend, or to compensate with misalignment that can destabilize the pose and make one vulnerable to injury. Therapy Yoga is accessible to anyone that wants to feel the benefits!
